We all know the horrors of what happend in the second world war. Nuremberg attempts to tell us the truth about what happened when the surviving nazi-leaders got there day in court.
The psychiatrist
Rami Malek takes on the role off psychiatrist: Kelly Douglass. A Man with a mission to proof that the germans are differently wired. He is called in to Nuremberg where the first ever international justice judgement will be made. His Job is to analyse the 22 captured war criminals and to prevent them from hurting themselves. In the the destroyed state Europe is in at the moment he also sees this as an oppertunity to write a book.
The impact on the world
This isn't the first time someone tried to dramatise the storeis about the Nuremberg Trials. And nobody but the people who lived it will ever know the actual truth of what went down there. I went to see this movie together with my mother she is in her 60's. The only thing she could do was confirm this is true to the stories my grandfather told her. Especially the controversy about Douglass his confidentialllity break trough the press. The timing of this movie being released end 2025 is immaculate. As we are in a world currently that needs to remember why 80 years ago these trials needed to happen. The images shown of the concentration camps brought me to tears. It was clear to me this was the real footage and the tears on the faces of the cast seemed more real then acted.
This movie will break your heart , and teach you some very important history if you have been sleeping trough those lessons at school. But what will also do is help you remember to not judge someone on how they look. The overall message offcourse is what happenend in between 1939 and 1945 should never happen again.
