Anaconda (2025) Review
Not just another reboot.
In the new Anaconda Movie Starring Jack Black and Paul Rudd. A group old friends that come together after years, Decide to reboot the adventure movie Anaconda. So at the start at the movie we meet the main characters in quick fashion and learn soon , they went to school together and made movies as kids. In the present Dougg(Jack Black) is a Failed director. Instead of Hollywood movies he directs Wedding Videos. And Griff(Paul Rudd) has grown up to be a failed actor. For a birthday party Griff decides to come back from LA to Buffalo. And re-ignites the movie making spark in the friend group. Claiming to have the rights to the Anaconda Franchise.
A Trip trough the Jungle
Being a failed actor and a failed director. together with an old Love interest of griff naimed Claire and a not so sober friend named Kenny. The group fails to get a proper movie budget and decide to go Indie style with the small budget they manage to get. They travel to Brasil, And meet A snake handeler named Santiago who owns an Anaconda. To complete the group we follow along the story we see a woman who calls herself Ana join the crew at the boat . When they set sail, They go on an Adventure they will never forget.
Tropic thunder of snake movies
Until this movie I never saw Paul Rudd and Jack Black in a movie together. But the chemistry is real , the laid back type of characters of Paul Rudd and the extrovert overly excited characters of Jack Black make for a proper Balance. The comedic timing is also great, and the movie doesn't rely too much on getting the audience to laugh. The story is of a decent level and the PG-13 rating is a great choice. But we gotta talk about the elephant in the room. This a movie about guys making a movie wich goes wrong, in many ways. We have seen it before in the movie Tropic Thunder. That movie also had Jack Black in the cast. In tropic Thunder It's a group of professionals who walk in to the wrong forest. And take a long while too realise that what is happening isn't part of the movie anymore. The plot of the new Anaconda is basically the same premise. But with semi-professionals , A giant Snake and a dream. This movie shows we can still make people laugh and tell a good story in the process. So if it was a pure comedy movie I would have given it a 10 out of 10. But that's not the case it's a comedy adventure movie and the balance is great. But it isn't very refreshing.
